Definition:
SCM, Management is the piloting of the supply chain, since the first provider to the final customer. SCM aims to evaluate with just the needs, the availabilities and the capacities of each link of the supply chain and manufacture, in order to better synchronize them, and serve the customers under the best possible conditions. A product carried out from beginning to end consequently is never undertaken. Many providers, intermediates and subcontractors intervene with various phases of the realization of the product. Traditionally the communication between the speakers is limited at least. To secure risks, each one constitutes more or less important, expensive inventories in any case. The least error slows down flow even stops it and all the channel is penalized. Management makes it possible to ensure overall fluidity while guaranteeing a better flexibility. It ensures the passage of a directed production produces with a centered production customer.
