The search for a good governance, i.e. of a system of management and effective and reliable control, does not relate to only the trading companies. It interests also, and more and more, the organizations of the sector non-profit-making associations and foundations and their various recipients, members, management, employees, voluntary, profit givers, communities, people their services.
In these organizations as in the commercial firms, the board of directors or the equivalent part is a key actor of the governorship, which must fully exert its responsibilities for strategic organization, control of the accounts and risks, of representation of the recipients.
It was thus natural that the French Institute of Administrators (IFA) draws up an inventory of fixtures of the governorship of the associative sector and formula of the recommendations for submission to the management and administrators of associations and foundations.
Such is the purpose of this work, fruit of a reflection and a co-operation led during nearly two years with the main actors of the associative sector like with many experts, lawyers, chartered accountants, academics, specialists in management.
The toolbox which he proposes must allow those which exert functions of administrator in this vast sector one counts in France more than one million associations - to do it with method and effectiveness and to contribute thus to good management and social Futilité of this essential component of our society.
